About S3C

The Swiss Cobotics Competence Center aims to scale up the application of cobotics in Swiss industry. Our goal is to assist Swiss manufacturing companies, covering the individual company needs from testing and experimenting to training, implementation and validation of cobotic solutions. To that purpose, we have created cobotic test and demonstration platforms called Cobotic Base Cells (CBCs), representing typical industrial tasks.

The S3C represents the national hub for industrial and academic partners to jointly develop and test the next generation of industrial cobotic solutions or their components, and to learn how to design and integrate cobotic solutions under human-centric aspects.

History

The S3C was founded as a non-profit organization in November 2022 by the Association Swiss Smart Factory (SSF), the Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH), and both Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology ETH Zurich and EPFL. Today, more than 30 partners from industry and research are S3C members.

The S3C is funded by

The S3C is a member of the Advanced Manufacturing – Technology Transfer Center (AM-TTC) Alliance. The AM-TTC initiative is a measure in the federal action plan for digitalization in the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) to promote innovation and to speed up knowledge transfer.
